OK. So.
Yesterday...
I ate lunch at my desk. I was trying so hard to remember where I went, but it was no where.

Turbo Tax - $14.95. Nate and I alwasy go to H&R Blaock, but I asked him how much it was and he said $120 bucks. No. Just...no. So I said forget that!~ Imma do it myself. And I did. And we are getting a really nice refund and I saved us over $100 on the filing.

Beers - $17.24. More Shiner Black and Ace Perry. What can I say? We like to drink half and halfs.

Today:

Rock Stars (3) -  $7.44

Masks –  $12.96 For Erin and I for Megan’s Mardi Gras party Saturday. Erin is out until tomorrow and Lauren had to place the order by noon today. So I went ahead and got an extra one in case Erin needs/wants one.

Lunch at Wendy’s - $3.97

Mon, Jan. 28th, 2008, 11:55 am

OK, So not so many pictures today probably.

Jan 21

Lunch at Chick Fil A - $3.56

Jan 22

Postage to ship a painting to Autumn - $20.53

Dinner at Matt’s - $28.94. However they charged me $34.19. I called and told then they overcharged and they said they could reverse the charges or give me a GC. I took the GC because I did not want to give them my CC number over the phone. I love the food there but I’ll be sure to pay in cash from now on.

Jan 23

3 Red Bulls for the rest of the week at the gas station - $7.44 (I realllllyyyyy need to get to the grocery store)

Lunch at Dicky’s - $6.47

Gas - $35.09

Nana Volume 8 - $9.73 (manga)

Dog Food - $12.55

Dinner at Baker Brothers $5.51

Hilarious/wonderful earrings to wear on my birthday trip to The Church - $16.00

Target (pink tights for my green dress and a picture and frame for my boss to celebrate an achievement of hers) $11.12

Jan 25

I bought my b-day gift to myself. This time I saved all the money before. Some I saved, some I sold bags for. A Rachel Nasvik Penelope Bag in Petrol. This I actually put a lot of thought into. I knew I wanted this bag, but it was 392 bucks. Overkill. So I bought it from Revolve Clothing, which gives a 30% discount to new customers. And I was a new customer, so I got 117 off the bag. $274.

Lunch at Whataburger - $5.47

Replacement boots - $26.50. The black boots I got off ebay were fantastic. My favorite boots ever. They looked good with anything and felt like slippers. But then something came loose and it felt like a rock in my right heel. I took it to the cobbler but they said they could not do anything about it because of the molded rubber sole. I was actually REALLY upset about it but I found some decent replacements on ebay (again). I shopped regular stores but they don’t make boots that look like this anymore, at least not for lesst than around $200. bucks. And just, no.

Jan 26

Radioshack - $21.64. Nathan bought a Playstation 2 and Guitar Hero 3 for my birthday, so I got a memory card. And then I rocked out.

Jan 27

Brunch at Dream Café - $31.51 too expense. Will not go back I don’t think. I mean it was GOOD, but not 32 bucks good.

CVS – hair die, shampoo, skittle $20.45

I think I would have spent much, much less last week if I had actually entered in my expenses every single day. At the time,. They didn’t see that bad, but looking back…OMG. So. New goal. Enter expenses every day. Balance check book every day. I’m learning. I am. Pretty soon I will be a responsible adult. Maybe.

Mon, Jan. 21st, 2008, 10:51 am

Oh hey there.

So I was spendy this weekend.

Friday I had planned to go to Kenzoku with my office mates.
http://www.kenzoku-restaurant.com/
I ate lunch in every day last week and I took short lunches so I could take a super long one Friday. I had the lunch steak. It was delicious. And $17.94

On the way home I stopped to get some face care stuff and cosmetics at CVS (Face care $24.49 for wash, cream and treatment cream; Lipgloss $9.99, HIP shadow paint $11.99, shampoo $3.99 and gum $1.19)

Friday night Nathan and I went with friends to Hattie’s
http://www.hatties.net/
I gave him like $35 before hand to sort of pad the cost so that I could order cocktails (A Texas Cosmo at $12, and a French Martini at $10) and an appetizer (Fried green tomatoes!~ Amazing!~) and not worry about how high I was making the bill.

Then we went to the museum to see The Smiths exhibit.

http://dallasmuseumofart.org/Dallas_Museum_of_Art/View/Future_Exhibitions/ID_190509

It was amazing. Nathan paid our entrance fee and I got us beers ($11.50)

Saturday we met Erin H at Northpark for gelato ( $3.40)

Then we went shopping.
I got two party dresses for two parties in February. Mine and Megan's

  <----- for Megan's party

<------ for my party.

I know!~ They are the same dress. But they were $22.80 each at Forever XXI, and I just can't justify much more for a party dress that I will wear MAYBE 3 times. You know?

I also got a dress coat there, to go with said party dresses and also because I just didn't have one. I can't find a picture, but it's just black with little nubs of color throughout, pink, teal, green, yellow, purple. And dress length. Mid thigh or so. It was $54.80. And a strapless bra for $4.95.

I got shearing slippers from Jcrew marked down from $50 to $16.23.
And earrings at Claire’s that I had been obsessing about since I saw them on Kasmira's blog
http://whatiwore2day.blogspot.com/2008/01/dentist.html
I got them for $1.08! I was so excited because I thought they were soooo pretty when I saw her wear them.
This is HER picture, not mine

Then Nathan went to AT&T to buy his iPhone. I had to switch over too, so I had to get a new phone. I wanted a Blackberry for the full keyboard for texting but I am not ready for the extra 30 bucks a month a data plan would cost. So I saw the Blackberry Curve, and said "Oh Rod said to get this one" so I looked, but it was $179 bucks!~ Whoa there. But then the guy said he would give it to me for $80.00. So I said OK. But wait!~ There is more. For the same $80. he gave me a Bluetooth headset, a car charger and a case, worth another 80 bucks, but free for me!~ So yea!~

I got red.

Then it was my turn to buy dinner for Nathan and he wanted Panera. So we had that. $19.01

That night we played Guitar Hero at Erin and Rod's. Free. So that's nice.

Sunday we watched the Packers game over there as well and I spent $16 bucks on snack to bring over.

Thu, Jan. 17th, 2008, 11:35 am

Shelving unit for kitchen - $14.99

2 pack Hanes 3 way stretch thongs – $6.99 (wash one, wear one, I kid you not. I still have pretty much all the same panties from when I was fat, ya’ll. And I need something that FITS and will not give me a VPL)

Black lace top cami - $9.99 (I had several dresses that needed this, also a wash then wear then wash thing.

Erin H was selling a bunch of her old handbags and she had a Marc Jacobs for $200. It’s a $900 bag, and I have always wanted an MJ. So I asked her if I could do $100 now and $100 later and she said yes. So I’m broke for the next two paychecks and need to not buy anything. Hold me to that!~ That’s 4 weeks. So. *crosses fingers*

Mon, Jan. 14th, 2008, 03:45 pm

1/09 - Lunch at Chik-Fil-A - $5.39

1/10 Lunch at Whataburger - $3.83

1/11 -  Diet Rock Star at Mobile gas station $3.83 (They only had the TRIPLE SIZE. I             was flying. It was AWESOME)

Lunch at Dickies  $4.32 (ahahaha but at least I got water)

Dinner for Nathan and I at Sal’s $27.04
1/12  Groceries $76.49 (I hate buying groceries)

Lunch for Nate and I at Long John Silver’s (mistake, ohhhhhh such a mistake) $7.88

When I was at Target getting the groceries I also used a Starbucks giftcard I had for a Cinnamon Dolce Latte. OH MY GOODNESS that was delicious.

Thu, Jan. 10th, 2008, 03:30 pm

Yesterday at Target I bought a dress and flats. ($22.99 each) I shouldn’t have. And I got really mixed up feelings about it. On the one hand, I need dresses, I just do. I have one pair of pants that sort of fit, and maybe 10 viable dresses. 3 skirts, but not very many blouses/sweaters to go with them so you know…

Anyway, so since I have lost weight I have really struggled to get enough work clothes, by which I mean dresses. And this dress was gorgeous on me, and Erin was with me and she loved it too, and I am easily influenced. (I searched, but there is not a pic of it online)And to be honest, it is a great dress. Had I gone home and thought about it I would have chosen it anyway. But I didn’t I bought it on the spot, knowing  I had already bought boots and jewelry making stuff and that I don’t get paid until next week.

It felt really bad about it and really conflicted. I told Alannah I didn’t want to journal it. It was almost my first lie of omission. But then, what would I be learning really? From my e-mail to Alannah:

should I have bought it? No. Did I? Yes. Am I sorry? Not really. I need dresses. I lost 40 pounds and I have very little in the way of dress/work clothes and it chaps my hide. Whatever. Maybe tomorrow I will get up the guts to post it.

It makes me feel so down on myself and yet I don't want to return it. I wish I understood the logic, the reason behind it. You know? Ugh. OK. I have to blog this tomorrow.”

I wish I knew why it made me feel equal parts happy and sad. Equally revolted at myself and elated about the dress. “

The flats are another story. Just plain black flats, and I needed them because my feet are not dealing with heels very well anymore. I suspect that I may have to have surgery on my bunion sometime in the next couple of years. But heels are more and more causing me a great deal of pain. So much so that I think about it when I get dressed and try and choose the least painful heels. So I needed the flats, and I did try them on over a week ago and then walk away and consider them, which is what I would like to move to. More thinking and less buying on the spot.

I think something I really noticed is that I have more ability to do this alone. Shopping with a friend seems to make me more prone to impulse buys, because it’s a bonding thing. It’s fun and it makes me feel a part of something. So I need to start either knowing ahead of time what I am going to the store for and voicing that out loud to my shopping partner, or going alone.

Did I slip up? Yes. Am I learning? I think so, yes.

OK, and then today I killed the last of my Target gift cards from Christmas on 3 dresses online. These I DID think about a good deal beforehand as evidenced by the fact that I have had the giftcards since CHRITSMAS. Which for me is a long time.

And the purple one was on sale. ($67.00, killing my giftcards and ending Christmas time. I think I have like $1 and change left on one, so maybe I’ll get gum lol)

Also it has NOT gone unnoticed that I have been a little depressed, which started Monday and was followed shortly by what looks to border on binge shopping.

Note to self- Cheer Up and save money. You are smart, funny, THIN, you have a great husband and fabulous friends. You cannot buy anything better than that.

Wed, Jan. 9th, 2008, 10:22 am

OK. So. A lot went on yesterday.

I feel kind of sick about it, but in truth I did not make any impulse buys. Everything is something I have been researching and looking for for a while. So that’s a step in the right direction.

$76.50 on jewelry supplies. I really really want to get back into making jewelry for me and my friends. Maybe someday I’ll look into selling but for now I just want it as a creative outlet. And it’s been long enough I needed almost everything but tools (and I may find I need a few of those as well, but not for now). My friend Erin is going to help me perfect my wire work, which I am really excited about. I got chain, wire, beads, and findings.

$46.93 on boots. I have been looking for some flat boots to replace my teal suede “everyday” boots for a while. They were worn out enough before I went on vacation, but in CA we had to walk a couple blocks in the rain and it just sort of full on ruined them. I mean don’t get me wrong, I am keeping them, I can still wear them to the grocery store or whatever, but for going out they stopped being OK. So I’ve been looking since early December or so. Yesterday on ebay I won a brown AND a black pair for under 50 bucks. The brown pair are used vintage and the black pair are never worn Nine West vintage.

$21.03 on groceries. Yogurt and muffins for breakfasts. I was out. Salad stuff for dinner last night and tonight and MAYBE Thursday, depending on how big a salad I eat tonight. And trail Mix. When Kelly was in the hospital she had this trail mix from Sam’s Choice in her room? Like crack. SOOOOOOO good.

Tue, Jan. 8th, 2008, 02:28 pm

Nothing much to report.

Yesterday I bought lunch at Dickie’s BBQ for $6.47. Yes. Again.

And dinner at Taco Bell $3.23. I had breadsticks (it’s a Pizza Hut/ Taco Bell combo). Just breadsticks. I just couldn’t be bothered to do better.

Today I spent a WHOPPING $37.74 on gas for the car.

And $8.11 on lunch at Dickie’s…OK OK, see here is the thing. It’s new, PLUS basically the only thing this side of the freeway. And I am lazy and don’t like to go far. It’s too expensive though, I know. I need to quit.

Sun, Jan. 6th, 2008, 04:41 pm

New glasses. $180.00 WITH insurance. Mama Mia.

Lunch $9.00 at Soup Man. I could have made a cheaper choice, but it would not have been a healthy choice.

Sun, Jan. 6th, 2008, 12:04 pm

Friday I had lunch with Bernadette at Dickey’s BBQ. I had a baked potato, and it was fabulous.( $6.47).

I also stopped at Target on the way home. I got a lipgloss ($7.49), 2 nail polishes($1.99 each), an OPI base coat (pricey at $7.47) and some peanut butter cups for Nathan ($2.00), but I used a giftcard, so my frivolous purchases are excused.

Nathan and I had decided to stay in and watch Stardust from netflicks and so he got dinner and I stopped and got a 4 pack of Belgian beer and a 6 pack of apple ciders, so we could have half and halfs ($23.75), belgin beers? Expensive but delicious)

Saturday I met the girls for brunch at Ozona ($12.00). Then I went to Target and dropped $81.39 on storage boxes for the bathroom. I really didn’t want to, but something has to give in there. It looks awful all the time and I’ve been putting off buying storage because anything that looked decent was so expensive. At least it’s over now.

Fri, Jan. 4th, 2008, 10:44 am

This journal will probably be pretty boring. I’m trying to document everything I buy this year. Because I am a shopaholic and I hate that about myself. Incidentally, so does my husband, which is not good.

Yesterday  was January 3, and due to the food poisoning incident I rang in the new year with, the first time I made a purchase in 08.

It was dinner at Taco Bell for Nathan and I.
5 bucks.
